Hoarders

I was just flipping channels (yes, I know I'm supposed to be completing the paper that is due in 3 hours), but I came across Hoarders. Ever since having to clean my father's apartment, I can't really bring myself to watch one of these shows in its entirety because it makes me physically ill. My dad just had so much clutter in his apartment, not really the filth and squalor that a lot of these folks suffer from, but all the same, it is chaos.

I recently read the book "Dirty Secret" by Jessie Scholl, which was really enlightening and brought forth the idea of hoarding as a mental illness that could be triggered by traumatic events. I completely believe that.

  1. I heard that was a good book! I will check it out. You should read 2030 by Albert Brooks. It's a dystopia novel, but it was really eye-opening. Hope you're doing well! :)
