Scorpion Bowl to go…

IMG_2184

In case anyone was wondering how a Chinese restaurant packages a Scorpion Bowl to go…here it is!

Can I come out now Mommy?

This photo was taken immediately before the bottom of the gate came loose due to N and A putting their combined weight of 55 lbs on it. Fortunately I was standing right there and caught both of them, so it was a happy ending for everyone.

Baby Clothes Quilt

Last night I met with Beth of Beth Sullivan Designs to discuss the making of N's baby clothes quilt. She was super nice and patient with me, and I look forward to seeing the proposed designs from her now that she has N's clothes to work with! More details to come as I get them!

What is the deal with purple lettuce?

I forgot to make my lunch to bring to work today because I was too busy getting everyone else ready to go  off for the day. So, off to the cafeteria I went to get something to eat.

The special salad for the week is "Strawberry Fields Salad". It has spinach, and other mixed lettuces, as well as blue cheese (or is it bleu?), onions, pecans, and poppyseed dressing. Oh yes, and of course, the strawberries. I also bought some grilled chicken to put on it so I won't be hungry 20 minutes after eating it.

Note: On Tuesday I bought this exact same lunch for the exact same reason, but I only ate 1/2 of it because there was a very long HAIR in it. I was so disgusted I threw it out.

Anyway, there is a lot of purple lettuce in today's salad, which I don't like and have been picking out as I come across it - it's being flicked into the trash as we speak. It is sooo bitter! And lettuce is supposed to be green! How do we come up with purple lettuce? And what is it called? Does anyone know?

P.S. As a clarification to my prior post in which I asked about photo organization...I mean ACTUAL photos in albums and things. I know how to organize them online. :)

Yawn.

Yawn. I've been up since 3 am, because I'm so stressed about work. I got out of bed to avoid bothering M and was sending emails to people that I should have done a few days ago, but to be honest...I'm so behind I feel like I am beginning to shut down. I can't let this happen.

I'm going to go get iced coffee and try to plug through my to do list.

Tonight will be exciting. After the kids are in bed, I am going to meet the woman who's going to make my baby clothes quilts and decide on a design for them. Then, off to the gym to catch the 2nd half of Zumba class!

VPN Stinks, etc.

I'm working at home this afternoon because daycare is closed due to it being the owner's son's birthday. He is 1 today. Happy Birthday, JJ!!

But the VPN is incredibly slow so I'm doing some social things on the home computer while I wait for files to open. How's that for multitasking?

Does anyone have any good tips or tricks for organizing photos??? I have a ton, and I don't know where to begin.

#42: Find an alternate route to the office

What spurred me to create this goal was that on some days, I sit in an endless parade of traffic at the 95/128/93 split to get to work. It is utterly ridiculous some days because the majority of the traffic stems from the left hand split, and not the right (where I need to go) because of all the geniuses that drive in the right lane and then wait till the last minute to change lanes.

So I made it my goal to find another way to get to the office on days that I know the traffic is bad - and in doing so, I actually found 2 different ways I can bypass the traffic if need be! Go me.

#101: Enter a photo into a local contest

On Friday, my day off, I ventured out early to get to the post office so that I could have my entry into the Massachusetts Agriculture Calendar Photo Contest in on time. I don't know whether it will get anywhere, but I think I get an A for effort! :)

I submitted a picture taken last fall of N running in a field toward trees with really vibrant fall colors, which was at Tangerini Family Farm in Millis - we went there last year to select our Halloween pumpkin. N had a great time there at the petting zoo, but I think the highlight for her really was to ride a tricycle that was there for kids to use. Too funny.

We'll see how it all turns out!
